My Catania

A commercial for My Catania, a free app that works as a guide to the city and to the Etna region.

The app holds a complete map of Catania and its sights: each place comes with a description, images and contact details, and navigation can be started from there. A system called Amerigo filters suggestions by time of day, season and weather, proposing what to see or do at that particular moment. It also works offline, which for a foreign visitor on roaming is not a minor detail.

Explaining an app in fifty seconds is a different problem from selling a physical product: there is no object to show, there is a service to make understood. The film starts from the city rather than the screen — Catania is the thing you want to visit, the app is how you get there.
