A commercial for the sun care range by Gyada Cosmetics, a natural cosmetics company based in the province of Catania. The brand makes vegan and cruelty-free products, formulated with plant extracts and organic ingredients.

Sun care carries a double promise that has to be told in under a minute: it protects your skin, and it spares the sea. Those are two different arguments — one is about the person watching, the other about the water the cream ends up in — and the second must not land like a footnote.

The film works outdoors in full natural light: the same conditions in which the product is actually used. The act of applying it stays at the centre of the frame, held close, because that is the moment the product leaves the bottle and becomes something on skin.
